Fisher Bulletin

Poor Peter has to keep sending emails and pictures to me. I even got up at 3:00 this morning to get the update from Embassy.

Embassy went well, they are hoping they have the papers for travel by Tuesday at 4:00. Once he has those in hand he is off to the airport. So they will be home either Wednesday or Thursday at the latest.

Fisher has been loving all his new toys that Peter bought but he has no idea there is a suitcase full of toys. Peter keeps bringing them out slowly but his favorite is the Toy Story Movie on his iTouch.

He ate a great dinner of chicken and loved the almonds Peter bought and the dried mangos grew on him some Peter said.

When he got up he made his bed right away -- may need to teach my darlings here a few things -- and wanted to brush his teeth.

I love this one, he skips when he is happy and Peter said there has been a lot of skipping!

Peter and Fisher are together!

We are so happy Peter has Fisher Weyesa. I was up all night waiting for them to get back to the Yebsabi so we could video conference. We only got a few minutes where it was working well but the chat part was great.

I don't anyone is more excited to chat with him and meet him than Harper, EB and Tate.

Peter wrote this to our group that has been so supportive and wonderful on our journey....

Fisher Weyesa and I have been hanging around together at the Yebsabi (mostly outside) having a good, but low key time. Earlier, we video chatted with "Mommy," after he asked where she was :). We looked at picture of airplanes, airports and the family. He can hardly stop watching Toy Story ( though for some reason, he holds the player sideways). He tolerated the scrub-down and tooth brushing just fine. We'll do that again tomorrow. Mitin and I went over paperwork and we're all ready for Embassy tomorrow morning (Monday Morning). Through Mitin, we talked about how his name in America will be Fisher Weyesa. He seemed fine with that and "agreed" per Mitin. So far, so good.

Two families from our group where in Ethiopia last week and got some wonderful pictures of Fisher for us. We are so grateful to have these pictures and have them give some love to Fisher. So excited Peter will be with him in 2 weeks!

Happy St. Paddy's Day

We are confirmed for Embassy on March 14. Flights are almost booked to have Peter and Fisher land in Chicago on St. Patrick's Day. Not sure what he will think of a city that turns green on March 17th but we are sure excited to finally have him coming home!

We want him home!

We still have no news about Embassy confirmation and don't even have news from our agency about where we stand on paperwork that has been requested. Everyday is a roller coaster of hope that we get the news we want -- you have been confirmed and you can come get your son!

I woke up this morning to this message from Bete, a nanny at Sale Enat.

He is fine with us until you get him. Last Friday we play a game & he won. He is happy & in good hand. I ask him to choose between you & me he tell me he loves me but he loves you & want live with you. It surprise me other children told me different story because I am with them but Weyessa told me the truth. Both Weyessa & you are lucky.

Let's hope today is day we get the call we have been waiting for.

Package for Fisher

We are very sad that Fisher is not home yet. We had hoped and hoped he was going to be home yesterday but with the US Embassy asking for more information we don't have a date yet. We are sending him a package on Monday so he knows that we love him and will come as soon as we can. We all went to Target and got to pick out some items for him. We are also including a special message from each one of us!

Harper's 10 year old picture

This Blog Entry is devoted to Harper and written by Harper.

''Ever since I was little, I had wanted to be a teacher. Before we took this picture, the photographer asked me to look out window and think about something. It could have been anything, but I chose to think about what my future would be like.

I thought about what my classroom would look like, and what my house would be like. I thought about the child/children I would have and what I would name them.(I wanted to have either one or two girls and name them Jaimie and/or Sammy.) I had also thought about my students. Kindergarden-Third Grade sounded good to me!

Of course when I write this I have no idea what tomorrow really brings. Sometimes my mind travels far away with my thoughts. There really isn't any promising I'll be a teacher or that I'll have little girls. My mind just does that. Same with these thoughts. From my head to the screen go my thoughts.

There are a lot of good memories from when I was little, though one of my favorites had to have been my first time watching the fireworks in Harbor Springs with my dad. Both of my siblings were already asleep when I left with my dad to see the Forth of July fireworks. When we got there, we spread out the blanket and sat down waiting for the show to start. I had felt that comfortable cozy feeling that night in Harbor Springs, and I won't ever forget it.

I didn't think about all these things just now. These thoughts have been what I have thought about for a few years. I hope that sometime later on in life I will look back at this and have the same thoughts that I am thinking now .''
