First Day of School

I can barely believe it. The kids are getting so big and Harper is off to Jr. High. Harper is in 7th, EB is in 6th and the boys are in 4th. Time just goes too fast.

The Comedy of Errors

Today the sun was shining and we were front row at The Shakespeare in the Park for the Comedy of Errors. It was at Washington Park and it could not have been a nicer setting for pictures and since we got there so early to get front row I took advantage of it. Not all the kids were super excited about this idea.
4 Shakespeares.

A more typical pose!

The Girls

Harper, could she look older?

Is it Peter or William?

Truly the only way he was smiling was with help.  He was more than a tad surly.

He was miserable.

MARTA

Amazing is the only thing I can say about our hour long Skype with Marta (Fisher's mom), Yosef (his brother 26 yo), Yosef's wife and daughter. There was joy and there were tears of happiness. It was so funny when I asked her if Weyesa had to do chores in Ethiopia. Fisher always tells me that Marta never made him do any chores because she was too cute! All I can say is he was busted. I was so amazed that Fisher asked Marta if she could come visit him here in the US. She said yes she would love to come. Yosef also thought it was a good idea. The next step is to figure out how to get a visa for her to come and visit. Our thought is I can fly to DC and get her right out of customs and bring her back here for a couple of weeks and then return with her to DC. We would love for her to come here in late spring. She can see him in school, see him play soccer and the weather won't be brutal for her. Can anyone offer any suggestions about how we can get her a visa? The gravity of her being able to see Weyesa and talking with him hit me when she said that she was very sick a year ago with a problem with her liver and was in the hospital for 3 months and her biggest fear was she would die without seeing him again. She said today she got to see him and she was so happy. We had a wonderful man help us make this all work. It was just amazing, every smile and every tear.
