City fun!!!

Today we were off to the Money Museum at the Federal Reserve of Chicago. It is a free museum where you get to learn about money. Our friends came with us and we thought it would also be fun on our walk to the Chicago Cultural Museum to learn about some of Chicago's public art. It was all fun and games until Tate backed up into Calder's Flamingo statute and left in an ambulance and ended up with staples. He is great now and had  a good time hanging for 6 hours in the ER but man was it scary. The statute is on Federal property so that means that there are lots of federal agents around that all of a sudden appeared, even some undercover. As the ambulance was pulling away a man in a catering outfit was knocking on the ambulance and flashed a badge. He was from Homeland Security. We had to leave but don't worry, like a scene from a movie, he was off to find Peter and the kids as they made their way to the car. There was a market going on, lots of people and these two men wanted to talk with Peter. They were very nice but just wanted to make sure that Tate was okay.

This man gave a very interesting talk about money and the reserve.  The highlight was getting to see the new $100 bill.
Tate studied it and studied it.
Fisher Money!
Our friends and $1,000,000.
Tate thought all the quarters in there were Rhode Island quarters.
Harper money.
EB money.
Harper and her bag of shredded money!

Talk about fun!  You put in a $1.00 bill and get back a $1.00 coin!
Tate found this to be the most interesting part of the museum.  I had no idea  that there was money that had a Hawaii Stamp on the back.
The kids!

Playing with the great machine that printed a picture of you standing with a $1,000,000.  The kids would have done this all day!

The Flamingo by Calder.

Tate recovering nicely after his staples, some snacks and figuring out the fun entertainment system they had at Lurie's.
The plan was always to meet up with friends at The Ethiopian Diamond and I took Fisher, EB and Harper while Peter and Tate hung out at the hospital.

Fisher with 3 of his cousins we found through 23andme.
Some of the kids hanging out!
