A Visit with Family

Our friends Sara and Abel are in Ethiopia and they spent some time with Fisher's family there and we feel like they are our family too.  We are so grateful to both of them for having spent time with them and throwing us a bone with a few pictures and sharing some highlights while they are still there.  I was not stalking you Sara I promise.  I love love the last picture of Marta, it truly shows joy and happiness and I grateful we have that picture of her.  Also, I love seeing the locket around Marta's neck because my mom used to wear this locket and gave it to her so she could have pictures of Fisher close to her heart.

We spent some time with Marta, Fisher's birth mom, at our birth family meeting, while we were in Ethiopia and it was a sad day and never one where you can ask every question you can think of that it was wonderful to hear Sara say,

"She is a really, really fun lady! Every time I got the camera out she stopped smiling so we started messing with her about it. Lol she has a great sense of humor. I will send you lots more pics after I am back. She is joyous. :)"

I also find peace with all this to know in our situation that birth family is doing well and are happy and Fisher is thriving and has become such a part of our family but yet so loved and remembered by his birth family.  It was extra special because on March 16 he was home one year and yesterday Tuesday, March 20 was our one year homestudy visit, Fisher's Heritage Day at school (pictures and video to come of that) and Sara and Abel spent with Fisher's family in Ethiopia.  What a day to come full circle on!

Fisher talks so much about his niece Sinate.  He has such wonderful memories of her and wanted Sara to see the "baby" while he was there. She is around four years old now.  Her name is pronounced "sin-ite".    She and Abel were holding hands a lot...crush!  She is the sweetest.

Mom with sibs.  One brother and one sister weren't there bc they were at school.

I know this is crazy but I wanted to see how tall Marta was.  When we met her she was only sitting down.  Sara said she is 5'10" so maybe Marta is 5'5" ?  I really loved meeting her!  She loved the locket and blanket and especially the pictures.  She kissed the first picture of him.  She said she is pleased that Fisher is doing so well and she loves him and is so thankful to you for making him another family and loving him like a mother.    Also as a side note, their house is VERY easy to get to making it easy for you to see them often when you come.  She said that she would love for him to visit with you and Peter.

This is when I was telling them that fisher is so good at sports and he is a great swimmer.   She said he used to swim in the river behind their house and that is why he is so strong.  :)
