Kiwi

Tate and one of his BFFs, Logan.  Tate was so excited that Logan got a bird, Kiwi, and could not wait to play with Kiwi.  Crazy how Kiwi was so interactive.  I had no idea!

Our baby robins

We were so blessed to have had a Robin build her nest so we could watch over her babies.  The nest was on the 2nd floor window of our garage by the stairs and we could not get enough of these baby birds.  We celebrated when they hatched and were so sad when they died.  Last night was a brutally cold night and we think it just got too cold for them.

The kids really wanted to bury the birds and say goodbye.

Tate was so sensitive and said can you imagine a mother losing all her babies on Mother's Day?  He said he was thankful she did not know there was such a holiday.

Our last picture with them all alive.

Saying goodbye.

Tate really wanted to look at the birds and study them.  He is the one who has several animals in his dissection kit.  All we did was look at the birds and try to understand why some were more developed than others.  Could it be that a mother Robin lays only one egg a day and yet they all hatch about the same time?

Here they are, all different sizes.

Isn't this next just incredible?

The burial.

Mother's Day Soccer

Mother's Day weekend is a perfect weekend for a soccer tournament.  So glad I got to see Fisher play with his U13 team.

Added this picture simply because it is one of my favorites that I have taken the last several weeks.
